Business Visitor

Business visitors are persons who stay in Canada for a few days or up to 6 months.

Activities you may conduct as a business visitor include:

Taking orders for goods or services
Attending meetings, conferences, conventions or trade fairs
Buying Canadian goods or services for a foreign entity
Being trained by a Canadian parent company that you work for outside Canada
Giving after-sales service as part of sales agreement

To qualify as a business visitor to Canada, you must show that:

You have documents that support your application
You don’t plan to enter the Canadian labour market
Your main place of business, and source of income and profits is outside Canada

When travelling to Canada, a business visitors should be prepared to present immigration officials with documentation that attests to their desired status in Canada. This documentation will vary on a case-by-case basis. Often, items such as a letter of support from a parent company or letter of invitation from a Canadian company can help to bolster one’s likelihood of acceptance as a business visitor.
